The Good Intent had its first ever ATV Poker Run on Saturday. This event was huge and was extremely awesome! Some where around 467 Bikes were registered. Riders, Campers, Spectators and Workers had nothing but compliments everyone enjoyed the day! With the land owners permission there definitely will be an ATV poker run in 2012. We are already planning on new ideas and improvments.
Thanks again everyone for a great time!! Poker Run Website...

Fire company volunteers provide peace of mind

To the Editor:
We feel compelled to write about our great Good Intent Fire Company No.1 of Llewellyn.

On March 10, along with many other people, we were really concerned about all the rain and possible flooding to our home and property. We have enlisted the aid of the volunteers from the fire company several times before. Many of the problems we had before have been taken care of, but this amount of rain was so much in a short period of time that we were concerned.

Before we knew it, a knock came to the door that evening. There stood one of the volunteers from the fire company. He said they were just checking to see if we were all right and if we needed any help. They knew we had gotten water before. WOW!! Can you imagine? We were so grateful!

We spent the whole night awake watching the water levels and did get a little water, but were very lucky compared to other people. Just knowing the Good Intent Fire Company No. 1, Llewellyn, volunteers were there if we needed them was a great comfort. We are so grateful for all they do and urge everyone to support their local fire companies and all of their volunteers.
